Pretend that you are talking to a blind man and have to describe for him what "red" is. You should use narrative and descriptive writing techniques, and try to appeal to his other senses!

Don't think of Red as a color. Think of  it as an emotion. Red is the thrill of infatuation, love, and passion. However, Red is the sensation you feel when you are infuriated. Red is hatred. Red is war. Red is revenge. Red is the taste of Burgundy Wine, the immense heat of a Chili Pepper resting on your taste buds. Red is the burning sensation felt when you set your hand on a heated object. Red is the scent of freshly cut roses in the midst of a summer day.

Write a letter to your future college roommate introducing yourself and your background.

Dear future roommate,
My name is Taylor Amar.  I was in born on January 29 1995, in Grossmant Hospital. My father is full Filipino, and my mother is Italian, Swedish, and Caucasian. At 15 months I was taken by my mother and re-rooted in Portland, Oregon. Months later, my father followed us up there, and for the next eight years we lived there, with an abundance of problems dancing just steps behind us. My parents and I were in and out of jail and foster care for four years. Eventually, I was temporarily adopted by my grandparents with whom I stayed with for the next two years, until the age of nine, when my father regained custody and we boarded a plane to Chula Vista, California where we moved into my Lolo's (meaning grandfather in Tagalog) house, and we started our new lives. We have resided here ever since. I am a relatively clean person. I am willing to share anything and everything so long as I am asked nicely. I stand up for what is right, regardless who the person may be. I cannot wait to meet you, and I hope to enjoy our college experience together.

Sincerely,
Your future roommate,
Taylor Amar
